Komaria Akron (English spelling) Komaria Akron

The area lies at 8°5' north latitude and 77°36' east longitude. In ancient times, it was recorded as Komaria Akron on the map of Ptolemy, and Marco Polo also called it Comari. After independence, it was called Kanyā Kumari after the temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Kumari, which stands at the tip of the cape.
