She was the wife of Louis VII of France and Henry II of England. She was also called Eléonore d'Aquitaine. Her grandfather was William IX, Duke of Aquitaine and Count of Poitiers, the oldest troubadour. She was raised in a literary environment from an early age, and through her marriages to both kings, she introduced the literary traditions of the south and the idea of the cult of the lady to the courts of northern France and England. Bernard de Bentadour also served her, and Worth dedicated the novels "Les Brux" and "Les Troyes" to her, and she is also said to have contributed to the development of the legend of Tristan.

フランス国王ルイ7世，次いでイギリス国王プランタジネット家のヘンリー2世の王妃。エレオノール･ダキテーヌÉléonore d’Aquitaineともいう。祖父は最古のトルバドゥールで，アキテーヌ公，ポアティエ伯のギヨーム9世で，幼時から文学的環境に育ち，両国王との結婚により，南仏の文学伝統および貴婦人崇拝の観念を，北フランスおよびイギリスの宮廷に導入する。ベルナール･ド･バンタドゥールも彼女に仕え，また，《ブリュ物語》(ワース作)，《トロア物語》も彼女に捧げられたほか，トリスタン物語の発展にも彼女の貢献があったとされる。
