1122?-1204 She was the wife of Louis VII of France and Henry II of England. She was also called Eléonore d'Aquitaine. Her grandfather was William IX, Duke of Aquitaine and Count of Poitiers, the oldest troubadour. She was raised in a literary environment from an early age, and through her marriages to both kings, she introduced the literary traditions of the south and the idea of the cult of the lady to the courts of northern France and England. Bernard de Bentadour also served her, and Worth dedicated the novels "Les Brux" and "Les Troyes" to her, and she is also said to have contributed to the development of the legend of Tristan.
