It is also read as "Jinjuden". It is the name of a palace in the Heian Palace. It is located north of Shishinden and was also called Chuden. It is a south-facing building with cypress bark roofing, seven bays from east to west and four bays from north to south, and has eaves on all four sides. It is divided into east and west by a horse path that runs through the middle. Between Shishinden and Jinjuden is a terrace, where ceremonies were held and where nobles could cool off in the summer. Jinjuden was once the emperor's daily residence, and at the eastern end of the southern wing was a limestone altar where the emperor performed religious ceremonies, but from the mid-Heian period it was replaced by Seiryoden, and Jinjuden was used for New Year's banquets and poetry contests, and sumo matches were held in the eastern garden.
