A town in Niwa County in northwest Aichi Prefecture. It is located on the Inuyama alluvial fan, and was converted into rice paddy fields during the Edo period. Cacti are a specialty of the town. Factories have been established there from Nagoya, and textile and weaving industries are being carried out. The town is also rapidly developing into a residential area. Area: 13.61 km2 .
