free on board

...A term indicating the terms of the transaction price that differ depending on who bears the freight, insurance, and other incidental costs associated with the transportation of the cargo. FOB is an abbreviation for free on board and is translated as "free on board." FOB price (also called "free on board price" or "free on deck price") terms refer to a transaction condition in which the seller loads the cargo onto a ship anchored at a designated loading port arranged by the buyer, but all expenses incurred up to that point, including loading onto the ship, are borne by the seller.
