[1] [emotion] A hymn used to set the rhythm of a humorous dance performed for entertainment at banquets. *Kakushihon Ukiyodoko (1813-23) 2 "A suteteko suteteko suteteko ten teko ten ton ton" [2] [noun] ① an abbreviation of "suteteko odori (dance)." *Kabuki Nami-tei Shinbokukai (1881) "In high spirits, (abbreviated) the long-standing fashion of suteteko doko doko bakabayashi" ② A type of underwear for men. The underpants of trousers that reach below the knee. The name comes from the fact that San'yutei En'yū, who started the suteteko dance, wore them. [Season: Summer] [Meiji Seisai Hyakuwa (1936)]
