A former town in Shida County, central Shizuoka Prefecture. Facing Suruga Bay, it occupies an alluvial fan on the left bank of the Oi River estuary. It produces rice, vegetables, strawberries, and flowers, and also fishes for shrimp and whitebait. Development of the area behind the harbor is underway. The Air Self-Defense Force's Shizuhama Airfield is located here. It was incorporated into Yaizu City in November 2008. 24.54 km2 . Population: 22,992 (2005). 静岡県中部，志太(しだ)郡の旧町。駿河湾に面し，大井川河口の左岸扇状地を占め，米，野菜，イチゴ，花卉(かき)を産し，サクラエビ，シラスなどの漁業も行う。港湾背後地の開発が進んでいる。航空自衛隊静浜飛行場がある。2008年11月焼津市へ編入。24.54km2。２万2992人（2005）。
