Aerobic bacteria

Bacteria that grow in the presence of free oxygen. Bacteria that cannot grow at all without oxygen are called obligate aerobes, and Bacillus subtilis, Acetobacterium and Mycobacterium tuberculosis are typical examples. Many bacteria, including pathogenic bacteria, can grow in anaerobic conditions, but unless anaerobic conditions are forcibly created, they are facultative anaerobes that obtain energy through efficient aerobic respiration. 遊離酸素の存在下で生育する細菌。酸素がないと全く生育できないものを偏性好気性菌と呼ぶが，枯草菌，酢酸菌，結核菌はその代表例。病原細菌を含む多くの菌は，無気的状態でも増殖するが，しいて無気的状態をつくらない限り能率のよい有気的な呼吸によってエネルギーを得る通性嫌気(けんき)性菌である。好気性菌，通性嫌気性菌はチトクロム系を有して酸素呼吸を行う。→嫌気性菌
