...Hospitals also began to offer bedding rental services, including futon rentals for hospitalized patients, pillows, sheets, and other bedding that also included laundering; this came to be known as standard bedding supplies. Rental hand towels also became popular for coffee shops and restaurants, and rental diapers began to be used in ordinary households. These were mainly done by laundromat, but then uniform rental services, which mainly included dry cleaning, were also introduced.
