…Generally, it is understood as education that criticizes the outdatedness of education and innovates it, but in a more specific sense, it refers to the child-centered educational thought that arose in the European and American education circles from the late 19th century to the early 20th century and the attempts at educational reform based on it. In 1898, French educational reformer JE Demolins (1852-1907) published a book titled “New Education” in which he emphasized the reform of the secondary education curriculum and the importance of students' independent activities. At roughly the same time, new theories and practices were developed by C. Reddy of England, H. Lietz of Germany, and J. Dewey of America, and new education became a movement.
