A character from Greek mythology. He was one of the sons of the Trojan king Laomedon, but his unparalleled beauty caught the eye of the dawn goddess Eos, who kidnapped him and made him her lover. They bore two sons, Emmation and Memnon, from their offspring. However, when Eos prayed to Zeus to grant him eternal life, she forgot to pray for eternal youth at the same time, and he gradually grew old and was eventually turned into a cicada by Eos.
