Wang Kemin - King Kongbin

A politician of the Republic of China. His courtesy name was Shukuro. He was from Hang County, Zhejiang Province. After coming to Japan in 1900, he served as a supervisor of Qing Dynasty students and a consultant to the Chinese embassy in Japan. He returned to China in 1907 and worked in diplomatic affairs, but in 1913 he became an executive at the Sino-League Industrial Bank, and in 1917 he became financial chief of the Wang Shizhen cabinet and president of the Bank of China. He subsequently held key financial positions in the Zhili faction government. In 1927, the Nationalist government issued an arrest order for him as a rebel, and he fled to Dalian and joined the Fengtian faction. He served as a member of the Northeast Affairs Committee in 1932, a member of the Beiping Affairs Committee in 1934, and a member of the Jiji Affairs Committee in 1935. After the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937, he became executive chairman of the Provisional Government of the Republic of China, a puppet government in northern China. In 1943, he became chairman of the North China Political Affairs Committee of the Republic of China government (Nanjing). In December 1945, he was arrested as a war criminal and died of illness in prison in Beiping (Beijing).

中華民国の政治家。字(あざな)は叔魯(しゅくろ)。浙江(せっこう)省杭県の人。1900年渡日後、清(しん)国留学生監督、駐日公使館参賛を歴任。07年帰国し、外交面の仕事に従事したが、13年中法実業銀行の重役となり、17年王士珍内閣の財政総長、中国銀行総裁に就任し、以後直隷(ちょくれい)派政府の財政面の要職を歴任した。27年国民政府より反徒として逮捕令が出され、大連に逃れて奉天派に投じた。32年東北政務委員、34年北平政務委員、35年冀察(きさつ)政務委員を歴任。37年日中戦争勃発(ぼっぱつ)後、華北の傀儡(かいらい)政権、中華民国臨時政府の行政委員長に就任。43年中華民国政府(南京(ナンキン))の華北政務委員会委員長となった。45年12月戦犯として逮捕され、北平(北京(ペキン))の獄中で病死した。
