Cylindrocaulus patalis (English spelling)

...The black passal beetle, Aceraius grandis , is found in India, the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, and Taiwan, and has a body length of about 45 mm. Japan has one species, the black passal beetle, Cylindrocaulus patalis , but its habitat is limited to parts of Shikoku and Kyushu, both of which are virgin beech forests in the highlands. Its body length is about 18 mm.
