Operational amplifier

A highly accurate, highly amplifying amplifier used in analog computers. Originally, the term referred to its function of greatly amplifying weak electrical signals, but in analog computers it is used in a feedback circuit, and the output signal is fed back to the input side. Also, by connecting a resistor or capacitor to the feedback circuit, it can become a circuit that integrates the input signal or a circuit that adds several input signals. The higher the amplification, the more accurate the circuit becomes, but various additional circuits are added to stabilize operation.

アナログコンピュータに用いる高精度で増幅度のきわめて大きい増幅器。本来は微弱な電気信号を大きく拡大する機能をもつことを意味しているが、アナログコンピュータではフィードバック回路に組み込んで用いられ、出力信号は入力側に逆戻りさせられる。また、フィードバック回路に抵抗や容量を接続することにより、入力信号を積分する回路になったり、いくつかの入力信号を加算する回路になったりする。増幅度が大きいほど、この回路の精度がよくなるが、動作を安定させるためにいろいろな付加回路が付け加えられる。
