Eurotium

Japanese: ユーロチウム（英語表記）Eurotium

It is a member of the Aspergillus class of Aspergillus fungi, Aspergillaceae family. The fruiting body is a closed ascocyst surrounded by a loosely entangled mycelium or pseudoparenchyma, with spherical to subspherical asci scattered inside. When the ascocyst matures, the wall collapses and the ascospores are released. Most are saprophytic, and there are about 20 species in the genus Eurotium. In addition to the ascocyst stage, there is an asexual conidial stage, which corresponds to the Aspergillus glaucus group of imperfect fungi.

子囊菌類の不整子囊菌綱，コウジカビ科にふくまれる。子実体はゆるくからまった菌糸網あるいは偽柔組織で包まれる閉子囊殻で，その内部に球形～亜球形の子囊が散在する。子囊が熟すと壁が崩壊して子囊胞子が放出される。大部分は腐生性で，ユーロチウム属には約20種がある。子囊時代のほか，無性の分生子時代があり，不完全菌類のアスペルギルス･グラウクス群Aspergillus glaucus groupがそれに当たる。
