Yuan Huang - English spelling

Japanese: 袁黄 - えんこう（英語表記）Yuán Huáng

A Chinese thinker in the late Ming Dynasty. His pen name was Kun'yi and his pen name was Liaofan. He is commonly referred to as Yuan Liaofan. His birth and death years are unknown. He unified the three religions of the time: Taoism, the new Buddhism of the late Ming Dynasty, such as those of the Zen Master Yun'guo and Zibo Daguan, and Confucianism, which had become increasingly used as a form of education for the imperial examinations. His theory on the unification of the three religions was widely disseminated and he was called the "Master of the Three Religions." He wrote many works, but his most widely circulated work was "Yinzhi Lu." Like Yunqi Tuihong's "Zizhi Lu," this work is a book of merit and demerit that shows the practical standards of faith in good books (good books), and both were widely read in Japan.

中国，明末の思想家。字は坤儀，号は了凡。袁了凡と呼びならわされる。生没年不明。彼は当時の金丹神仙道教，雲谷禅師･紫柏達観などの明末新仏教，科挙受験のための教養としての色彩が強くなった儒教の三教を一体化した。彼の三教一致論は広く普及し三教先生といわれた。彼の著述は数多いが最も流布したのは《陰隲録（いんじつろく）》である。この書は雲棲袾宏の《自知録》同様，善書的信仰(善書)の実践基準を示す〈功過格〉の書であり，ともに日本においても広く読まれた。
