1. Abbreviation for Resident Assistant. Assistant to the Resident Director (RA). This is a part-time job by students. RAs are assigned to each floor of the dormitory. They make sure that the students live safely on their assigned floor, resolve disputes between students, and monitor whether the rules are being followed. They act as supervisors for students living in the dormitory, and are also kind enough to respond to any concerns or questions that international students may have. From the second year onwards, international students can become RAs. Since becoming an RA exempts students from paying dormitory fees, there are many students who want to become RAs, and they are selected through document screening and interviews.
② Research Assistant. A student who helps a professor with his/her research, usually a graduate student. Tuition is also reduced.

①Resident Assistantの略。寮長（Resident Director：RA）のアシスタント。学生によるアルバイトで、寮の各階にRAが割り当てられ、それぞれが受けもつ階において、寮生が安全に暮らせるよう注意を払ったり、寮生同士のトラブル解決にあたったり、規則が守られているかどうか監視したりします。寮に住む学生の監督役といったところで、留学生の悩みや相談にも親身に対応してくれます。２年次以降は、留学生でもRAになることができます。RAになると寮費が免除されるため、RAになりたい学生はたくさんいますから、書類審査や面接などを通して選抜されます。
② Research Assistantの略。教授の研究の手伝いをする学生で、おもに大学院生がその任にあたります。やはり学費が減免されます。
