The straight line connecting the leading edge and the trailing edge of an airfoil is called the wing chord, and the curved line connecting the leading edge and the trailing edge through the center of the thickness is called the centerline. The ratio of the maximum thickness of the airfoil to the chord length (expressed as a percentage) is called the wing thickness ratio, and the ratio of the distance between the centerline and the chord to the chord length (expressed as a percentage) is called the camber (the distance itself is sometimes called camber). *Some of the terminology that mentions "camber" is listed below.
