American female poet. Hilda Doolittle was a pen name. She moved to Europe at a young age, married the British poet R. Aldington, and became a leading figure in the Imagism movement. She is also famous for her first collection of poems, The Garden of the Sea (1916), the long poem Helen of Egypt (1961), as well as for her model novel and her writings about her memories of Freud.
