Alepocephalidae

...The flesh is too watery to be eaten. The Alepocephalidae fishes found in Japan include the Tanaka Alepocephalidae, which is also found in the same genus, as well as the Bald Eagle, Amaranth, Black Anchovy, Japanese Anchovy, and Tsubu Anchovy. All of these fish live in the deep sea, have extremely flexible bodies, and are inedible. The classification of this family of fish has not yet been established, and as research progresses, many more related species will likely be reported from the waters around Japan.
