Hans Rosbaud

1895‐1962
Austrian conductor. He studied composition and piano at the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. In 1921 he became director of the Mainz Municipal Music School and conductor of the Mainz Symphony Orchestra. During this time he was a personal admirer of Hindemith. From 1928 to 1937 he was head of the Frankfurt Radio Music Department. He later served as general music director of Münster and Strassburg (now Strasbourg), conductor of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, and from 1948 until his death he was chief conductor of the Southwest German Radio Orchestra in Baden-Baden.

オーストリアの指揮者。フランクフルト･アム･マインのホーホ音楽院で作曲とピアノを学ぶ。1921年マインツ市立音楽学校長とマインツ交響楽団指揮者。この頃ヒンデミットに私淑した。28‐37年フランクフルト放送音楽部長。その後ミュンスター，シュトラスブルク(現，ストラスブール)の音楽総監督，ミュンヘン･フィルハーモニー管弦楽団指揮者を経て，48年より没するまでバーデン･バーデンの南西ドイツ放送管弦楽団首席指揮者。
