[The decline of Japanese cinema and the fate of film studios]
However, the subsequent bankruptcies of Shintoho (1961), Daiei (1971), and Nikkatsu's temporary suspension of production and shift to a "Roman Porno" style (1971) led to a deepening decline in Japanese cinema, and the film studios fell into crisis. As a result, the vast film studios were sold off piece by piece, with part of Toei's Kyoto film studio becoming a tourist facility and the Kyoto Studio Park (1975), part of Shochiku's Ofuna film studio becoming a shopping center (1976), and part of Nikkatsu's Chofu film studio becoming an apartment building (1977). Nowadays, no one calls film studios "factories of dreams."

　しかし，その後，新東宝の倒産(1961)，大映の倒産(1971)，日活の一時製作中止と〈ロマン･ポルノ〉路線への転向(1971)と，日本映画の衰微の勢いは深まって，撮影所は危機に陥った。そこでとられたのが広大な撮影所の切売りで，東映の京都撮影所の一部は観光施設･太秦映画村に(1975)，松竹の大船撮影所の一部はショッピング･センターに(1976)，日活の調布撮影所の一部はマンションに(1977)なった。いまではだれも撮影所を〈夢の工場〉とは呼ばない。…
