...A family of late Baroque architects active in Bavaria, Franconia, Bohemia and other southern German regions. Known architects include Georg Dientzenhofer (c. 1643-89), Christoph D. (1655-1722), Leonhard D. (c. 1660-1707), Johann D. (c. 1663-1726), and Christoph's son Kilian Ignaz D. (1689-1751). They created many churches by combining the fantastical structural techniques of Italian architect G. Guarini with the indigenous wall pillar system.
