Also called ra (ras). This is a noise heard with a stethoscope when secretions or exudates are present in the trachea, bronchi, or alveoli. It appears in various respiratory diseases. Depending on its nature, it is broadly divided into dry rasping (whistle, snoring, etc.) which occurs in bronchitis and bronchial asthma, and wet rasping (bubbles, crepitus) which occurs in acute pneumonia and pulmonary edema. ラ（【ら】）音とも。気管・気管支・肺胞などに分泌液・浸出液が存在するとき，聴診器に聞こえる雑音をいう。各種呼吸器疾患の際現れる。その性質により，気管支炎，気管支喘息(ぜんそく)などの際の乾性ラッセル（笛声(てきせい)音，類鼾(るいかん)音等）と，急性肺炎，肺水腫(しゅ)などの際の湿性ラッセル（水泡(すいほう)音，捻髪(ねんぱつ)音）に大別される。
