Guo Jingchun

…A scholar from the Six Dynasties period in China. His pen name was Jingchun. His family origins were from Hedong Wenxi (Wenxi County, Shanxi Province). He went to Jiangnan at the end of the Western Jin dynasty and became famous for his skills in the five elements, astronomy, and especially divination. He is said to have predicted the future of Wang Dun at the beginning of the Eastern Jin dynasty. However, when Wang Dun started a rebellion, he was killed because he judged it to be an ominous omen. His annotations to the Shanhaijing and the Mu Tianziden show an interest in the supernatural, and his annotations to the Erya and Sanso show an interest in ancient writings and strange characters. …
