Intramuros (English spelling)

An old walled city in the center of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Built by the Spaniards in the early 17th century, it served as the base of government. Surrounded by high walls, Fort Santiago is located along the Pasig River at the northwestern end. Many historical buildings remain, including San Agustin Church. Intramuros.
