This Imperial Palace was located in Motoakasaka, Minato Ward, Tokyo. It was the site of the inner residence of the Tokugawa clan, the former lord of the Wakayama domain. In 1872 , it was donated to the Imperial Court and became the palace of Empress Eisho, and was called the Aoyama Palace. It later became the palace of Empress Shoken and Empress Teimei (Omiya Palace), and after it was burned down in war damage, the Togu Palace was built, which remains to this day.
