A Polish dynasty (1386-1572). It began when Grand Duke Jogaila of Lithuania (Polish name Jagiellonian) married Queen Jadwiga, the last monarch of the Piast dynasty of Poland, and formed a personal union between the two countries. Under this dynasty, Poland reached its peak and expanded into Bohemia, Hungary, and the Baltic Sea. After the death of Sigismund II Augustus in 1572, Poland became an elective monarchy.

ポーランドの王朝（1386年―1572年）。リトアニア大公ヨガイラJogaila（ポーランド名ヤギエウォ）がポーランドのピアスト朝最後の君主ヤドビガ女王と結婚し，両国の同君連合を形成したのに始まる。この王朝の治下でポーランドは最盛期を迎え，ボヘミア，ハンガリー，バルト海方面に進出したが，1572年ジグムント２世アウグストの死後ポーランドは選挙王制となった。
