Methyllithium

An organometallic compound with the chemical formula CH 3 Li. It is obtained by reacting bromomethane or iodomethane with metallic lithium in ether. It is a colorless crystalline powder. It ignites and burns instantly in air. It dissolves well in ethers, but is less soluble in benzene and hexane. It is more basic and reactive than methyl Grignard reagent. 化学式CH3Liで表される有機金属化合物。ブロモメタンまたはヨードメタンにエーテル中で金属リチウムを作用させて得られる。無色の結晶性粉末。空気中では瞬時に発火し，燃焼する。エーテル類によく溶けるが，ベンゼン，ヘキサンなどにはあまり溶けない。メチルグリニャール試薬よりも塩基性が高く反応性に富む。有機合成上重要な化合物である。【友田 修司】
