Milking machine. A device that creates a vacuum inside a rubber cylinder attached to a cow's teat, stimulating the teat with repeated contraction and restoration pulsations to milk the cow. There are bucket and pipeline types. With the bucket type, the bucket is placed next to the cow or hung under its belly, and the bucket is moved each time the cow is milked, storing the milk in it. With the pipeline type, the milk is sent to a milk collection can at a designated location through pipes installed in the barn or milking room. The bucket type is the most popular in Japan.

搾乳機。牛の乳頭に装着したゴム円筒の中を真空圧状態にして，収縮，復元の脈動を繰返し乳頭を刺激して搾乳する装置。バケット型とパイプライン型とあり，バケット型はバケットを牛の横に置くか，腹の下に吊下げるかし，搾乳するごとにバケットを移動させ，その中に乳をたくわえる。パイプライン型は搾乳した乳を畜舎または搾乳室に設置された配管を通して所定の場所の集乳缶に送る方式。日本ではバケット型が普及している。
