A military commander in the mid-Heian period. Son of Yorinobu. In 1031 (Chogen 4), following his father, he put down the rebellion of Taira Tadatsune. He served as the judge deputy to Koichijoin (Prince Atsumi), and in 1036 he became the governor of Sagami Province due to his achievements, and controlled the warriors of the eastern provinces. In 1051 (Eisho 6), when Abe no Yoritoki (Yoriyoshi) of Mutsu rebelled, Yoriyoshi went to pacify the province as the governor of Mutsu. Yoritoki surrendered, and in 1053 (Tenki 1), Yoriyoshi became the Chinjufu Shogun, but in 1056, Yoritoki rebelled again. The following year, Yoriyoshi killed Yoritoki, but struggled against the resistance of the Abe clan led by Yoritoki's son Sadatō. With the help of the Kiyohara clan of Dewa, Yoriyoshi finally killed Sadatō and wiped out the Abe clan (the Zenkunen War) in 62 (Kōhei 5). For this achievement, the following year, he was promoted to Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade, and Governor of Iyo. His wife was the daughter of Taira Norikata.
