Apogee - apogee (English spelling)
The point at which the moon or an artificial celestial body revolving around the earth is farthest from the earth in its orbit. The apogee of the moon is 407,000 km. Due to the action of the sun, the position of the moon's apogee moves forward around the celestial sphere in about 8.85 years. (→ Perigee )
