After Lombroso, biological and psychiatric research that emphasized criminal disposition as the cause of crime was developed as "criminology" by T. Viernstein, A. Lenz, F. Exner and others, especially in Germany and Austria in the first half of the 20th century. Based on his research on constitutional biology, Kretschmer divided human body types into obese, elongated, and combative types (and hypoplastic), and pointed out that these types have an affinity with the three types of temperament: circulatory, schizoid, and sticky, which had a great influence on subsequent research on constitution and crime. …
