A town in Chichibu County in western Saitama Prefecture. The main settlement is located along the Arakawa River at the entrance to the Chichibu Basin, and is served by the Chichibu Railway. There is little flat land, so forestry, grapes, and shiitake mushrooms are cultivated. Minoyama Park is located in the south, and Nagatoro is located in the north. Area: 63.74 km2 .
