IDS Center

Japanese: IDS
IDS Center

[Postmodernism]
Many of the skyscrapers built after World War II were made up of square boxes and glass curtain walls, which formed the skylines of cities. In this environment, American architects PC Johnson and J. Burgee pioneered postmodernist design by completing the IDS Center in Minneapolis in 1973, Penzir Place in Houston in 1976, and announcing plans for the AT&T headquarters building in New York in 1978. These skyscrapers geometrically processed their plans, as if to show off their presence among the forest of skyscrapers, and the expression of the top, body, and base was based on the skyscrapers of the 1930s, and these expressions were realized using modern materials and highly advanced computer structural analysis.
