Born: March 17, 1817 in Castelbaronia Died December 26, 1888. Neapolitan Italian politician and legal scholar. An authority on international law, he was a professor at the University of Turin and played an active role in the movement for Italian unification. He served as Minister of Justice from 1876 to 1878 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1881 to 1885, and was a party to the signing of the Triple Alliance with Germany and Austria in 1882.
