Yuanjiang - Genko

A river in Hunan Province, China. It belongs to the Yangtze River (Changjiang) system. It is called Qingshui River in the upper reaches, originating from Yunwushan Mountain in Miaoling, southern Guizhou Province, and is only called Yuan River when it reaches Qiancheng Town, Qianyang County, Hunan Province. It flows northeast, passing through Chenxi, Yuanling, Taoyuan, and Changde, before emptying into Dongting Lake at Hanshou. It is 993 km long and has a drainage area of ​​approximately 89,900 square km. Its main tributaries are the Wusui River, the Chen River, and the You River. The river is accessible by boat downstream from Yuankou Town, Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province, and is an important transportation route for timber and other agricultural and forestry products between eastern Guizhou Province and southwestern Hunan Province.

中国、湖南(こなん／フーナン)省を流れる川。長江(ちょうこう／チャンチヤン)（揚子江(ようすこう／ヤンツーチヤン)）水系に属する。上流は清水江といい、貴州(きしゅう／コイチョウ)省南部、苗嶺(びょうれい)の雲霧(うんむ)山に源を発し、湖南省黔陽(けんよう／チエンヤン)県の黔城鎮に至って初めて沅江とよばれる。北東方に流れ、辰渓(しんけい)、沅陵、桃源、常徳市を経て漢寿で洞庭湖(どうていこ／トンティンフー)に注ぐ。長さ993キロメートル、流域面積約8万9900平方キロメートル。おもな支流に巫水(ふすい)、辰水(しんすい)、酉水(ゆうすい)などがある。貴州省天柱県遠口鎮より下流は舟運が通じ、貴州省東部と湖南省南西部の材木その他農林産物の輸送路として重要である。
