Alps Wind

...Produced in 1922. This is the third film by E. von Stroheim, an actor turned Hollywood director who made his directorial debut with the melodrama The Blind Husband (1918), a bold depiction of a love triangle with psychological portrayal. This film, which he wrote and starred in himself, depicts in a scathing and realistic way the decadence of the wealthy class that gathers in Monte Carlo, and asserts the new morals of post-World War I society, especially women's rights, and shocked the Hollywood climate.
