Manganin

A Cu alloy containing 12-18% by mass of Mn and 1.5-4% by mass of Ni. It has high electrical resistance and an extremely small temperature coefficient of resistance. It is used as a standard resistor. It also has a small thermoelectromotive force relative to copper. It is important to note that the relationship between resistance and temperature is not proportional near room temperature.

Mnを12～18質量％ およびNiを1.5～4質量％ 含むCu合金．電気抵抗が大きく，抵抗の温度係数がきわめて小さい．標準抵抗として用いられる．また，銅に対する熱起電力も小さい．常温付近で抵抗と温度の関係が比例関係にないことに注意を要する．
