Mount McKinley

Japanese: マッキンリー[山]（英語表記）Mount McKinley

The highest peak in North America. At 6,194 meters above sea level. It is the main peak of the Alaska Range in south-central Alaska, USA, and offers a large mountain and glacier landscape. It is also called Denali, which means "the great one" or "the high one" in Indian language, and the surrounding area is Denali National Park (designated in 1917), where wild animals such as bears, caribou, and wolves can be seen. It is also known as a tourist destination for sightseeing flights and skiing. The mountain is named after the 25th President of the United States, W. McKinley.

北アメリカの最高峰。標高6194m。アメリカ合衆国アラスカ州中南部，アラスカ山脈の主峰で，大規模な山岳氷河景観が見られる。インディアンの言葉で〈偉大なもの〉〈高いもの〉を意味するデナリDenaliとも呼ばれ，付近一帯はデナリ国立公園(1917指定)となっており，クマ，カリブー，オオカミなどの野生動物も見られる。遊覧飛行，スキーなどの観光地としても知られる。山名は第25代大統領W.マッキンリーにちなむ。
