Although the name "digitalis" generally refers to D. purpurea , other species cultivated for decorative purposes include D. lutea L., which has yellow flowers and is entirely hairless, D. lanata Ehrh., which has yellow flowers and fluffy inflorescences, and D. ambigua Murr., which has glandular hairs all over.
