Russo, Luigi
Born: 1892.11.29 Delia
[Died] August 14, 1961. Pietrasanta Italian critic. He started out under the influence of Croce. After getting to know De Sanctis, he argued that poetry and non-poetry, and works and authors, should be evaluated equally and comprehensively. He was the editor of the magazines Leonardo and New Italy. His main works include Giovanni Verga (1920), Problems of Method (29), La critica letteraria contemporanea (42-43), and Machiavelli (45).

[Died] 1927. Capodimonte Italian poet, novelist, and playwright. He wrote many novels that realistically depicted the lives of ordinary people, as well as poems in the Neapolitan dialect, and had a style that was similar to that of verismo (realism). His representative works include Sonnets (Sunettiata) (1887), Neapolitan Poems (Poesie napoletane) (1910), and Villanelle napoletane (Villannes de Neapolitanes) (33).

Born June 16, 1770 in Parma, Campania
[Died] November 19, 1799. Italian political thinker in Naples. He fled to Switzerland after being accused of being a Jacobin. He later wrote "Pensieri politici" (Political Thoughts) in Rome (1798), which is a mixture of abstract philosophical ideas and a desire for practical, concrete solutions. In 1799, he became a legislative commissioner for the Republic of Naples, but was executed when the republican government collapsed.

イタリアの政治思想家。ジャコバン主義者の嫌疑を受けてスイスに亡命。のちにローマで『政治思想』 Pensieri politici (1798) を著わすが,そこには抽象的な哲学思想と,実践的具体的解決を求める姿勢とが混在している。 1799年ナポリ共和国法制委員となるが,共和国政府の崩壊に際して処刑された。
