Born: 1744. Yaroslavl [Died] October 14, 1817. Moldova Russian military officer and admiral. During the Russo-Turkish War of 1787-1791, he led the Black Sea Fleet and defeated the Turkish Navy. In 1793, he was promoted to vice admiral. From 1798 to 1800, he conducted expeditions in the Mediterranean, and in 1799, when the army under the command of AV Suvorov advanced into northern Italy, he led a fleet to attack the French forces in southern Italy. However, this achievement was not appreciated by Emperor Alexander I, and he retired from the military in 1807. In 1944, the Soviet government established an order in honor of Ushakov's achievements.
