Bantu Homeland

...However, no country in the world except South Africa recognized this independence as an independent nation. After the 1970 Bantu Homeland Citizenship Act was enacted, the Bantustans came to be called Bantu Homelands or simply Homelands, and the term black nations was officially used in South Africa for those that were granted independence. After South Africa's Southern African Economic Integration Policy (Constellation Policy) was enacted in November 1979, the four independent black nations mentioned above joined it.
