Uighur Kingdom

After the mid-9th century, the Uighurs conquered Turfan and established the Uighur Kingdom (Xizhou Huihui, Gaochang Huihui) that spanned the north and south of Bogdulla. During this period, the Uighurs, who were originally mainly Manichaeans, mixed with the native Han and Aryan Buddhists and rapidly became Buddhists, and emerged as a unique cultural nation that translated Eastern and Western classics into the new Uighur script. …
