1744‐1819 The sixth king of the Konbaung dynasty of Burma. Reigned 1781-1819. Fourth prince of Alaungpaya, the founder of the dynasty. Known as Prince Badon because he was granted the Badon region as a fief. He ascended to the throne after instigating his nephew Maung Maung to kill the previous king, Xingu. To erase the horrible memory, he built a new castle at Amarapura on the north bank of the Namtu River and moved the capital there in 1782. The following year, 1783, he put down a rebellion by the Mon people, appointed the crown prince as commander, and led an expedition to Arakan, conquering it in 1785. 1744‐1819 コンバウン朝ビルマの第6代国王。
