A town in Futaba County, central Hamadori, eastern Fukushima Prefecture. The town is centered on the old post stations of Shinzan and Nagatsuka on the Rikuzenhama Kaido, and is served by the Joban Line. It produces rice, eggs, beef cattle, and flowers (oysters). The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant of Tokyo Electric Power Company straddles Okuma Town (currently out of power generation due to a radioactive material leak accident in March 2011). The town sustained damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake. 51.42 km2 . 6,932 people (2010).

A former town in Kitakoma District, central Yamanashi Prefecture. It occupies the northwestern part of the Kofu Basin and the southern slopes of Mt. Kayagatake, and is served by the Chuo Line. Grapes are cultivated, wine is brewed, and persimmons are also grown. In September 2004, it merged with Ryuo Town and Shikishima Town in Nakakoma District to form Kai City. Area: 18.86 km2 . Population: 13,297 (2003).

山梨県中部,北巨摩(きたこま)郡の旧町。甲府盆地北西部と茅(かや)ヶ岳南麓の斜面を占め,中央本線が通じる。ブドウ栽培,ブドウ酒醸造が行われ,花卉(かき)も産する。2004年9月中巨摩郡竜王町,敷島町と合併し,甲斐市となる。18.86km2。1万3297人(2003)。
