A town in Futaba County, central Hamadori, eastern Fukushima Prefecture. The town is centered on the old post stations of Shinzan and Nagatsuka on the Rikuzenhama Kaido, and is served by the Joban Line. It produces rice, eggs, beef cattle, and flowers (oysters). The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant of Tokyo Electric Power Company straddles Okuma Town (currently out of power generation due to a radioactive material leak accident in March 2011).
