1905‐88
A poet from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. His pen name was Yeosu. Before liberation, he worked as a reporter for the Dong-A Ilbo and Chosun Ilbo, and as social affairs editor for the Chosun JoongAng Ilbo. He made his literary debut in 1925 with That Day Was Christmas, and in the same year became a member of the Korean Proletarian Arts League (KCUP), writing many works with a strong tendency similar to Demonstration. After liberation, he held the important position of vice-chairman of the Korean Writers' Union for a time. He wrote works such as Yeosu Poems and Selected Poems of Park Palyang, as well as many critical essays. [Kajii Sook]

朝鮮民主主義人民共和国の詩人。号は麗水。解放前は《東亜日報》《朝鮮日報》の記者や《朝鮮中央日報》社会部長をつとめた。1925年《その日はクリスマス》で文壇にデビュー，同年カップ(朝鮮プロレタリア芸術同盟)の盟員となり，《デモ》のような傾向性の強い作品を多く書いた。解放後は，一時期朝鮮作家同盟副委員長の要職を占めた。《麗水詩集》《朴八陽詩選集》などのほか，評論も多い。【梶井陟】
