Japanese: 加茂川[町] - かもがわ

An old town in Mitsu District, central Okayama Prefecture. Located on the Kibi Plateau, the main settlement is Shimokamo along the Ukai River. The town produces rice, tobacco, peaches, and flowering trees. Kamo Market was once the site of a regular market, and the town is home to Kamo Sosha Shrine, and the Kamo Festival in October is famous. In October 2004, the town was incorporated as a town by merging with Kayo Town, Kamibo District, to become Kibichuo Town. Area: 141.15 ^km2 . Population: 6,126 (2003).

岡山県中部，御津(みつ)郡の旧町。吉備(きび)高原上にあり，主集落は宇甘(うかい)川に沿う下加茂。米，タバコ，モモ，花木を産する。加茂市場はかつての定期市開催地で，加茂総社宮があり，10月の加茂大祭は有名。2004年10月上房郡賀陽町と合併し町制，吉備中央町となる。141.15km²。6126人（2003）。
