Eccentric wheel

Japanese: 偏心輪 - へんしんわ（英語表記）eccentric

A device that converts rotary motion into reciprocating motion, or vice versa. It consists of an eccentric inner ring, an eccentric outer ring, and an eccentric rod. The eccentric inner ring rotates freely while being embraced by the eccentric outer ring, and because its own center and its center of rotation are different, it gives reciprocating motion to the eccentric rod. It is used in steam engine valve gear, reciprocating pumps, eccentric presses, etc. The field term is "excentric."

回転運動を往復運動に変え，またはその逆を行う装置。偏心内輪，偏心外輪，偏心棒から成り，偏心内輪は偏心外輪に抱込まれながら自由に回転し，それ自体の中心と，回転の中心が異なるため，偏心棒に往復運動を与える。蒸気機関の弁装置，往復ポンプ，偏心プレスなどに使用される。現場用語で「えきせん」という。
